Day 1 in Split, Croatia
We met at the airport Friday at 2pm and had a beer and a laugh before check in. Of course, the bag we had to check in weighed too much.7 kilos too much! Whoops.. So we had to rearrange our luggage, but it turned out fine and we went through security and did some tax free shopping, before having our second beer and a sandwich! While searching for snacks before the flight, Jacob looked at Raven with panic in his eyes, and then Raven realized that she had left her hand luggage at the last sit down. The thing is, that we had just passed the passport check, so Raven was in big trouble. Jacob and I continued to the gate, because the “go to gate” sign had already been on for 15-20 minutes. Thankfully the flight was delayed, so when Raven finally got to the gate with her hand luggage, we still had about 15 minutes of waiting time before boarding the plane.
I hate traveling with Norwegian, they are always late. This time they were 2,5 hour late, but we got to Split and our driver, our Landlord Leo, was waiting outside with a golden sign with my name on, when we arrived. After a 20 minute drive we got to Shiny Love Apartment. A cozy studio apartment with a cute patio with kiwi trees on the roof fence. Leo shared some homemade grappa and prosecco with us, while he was answering all our questions about the good restaurants, go to places, beaches, boat trips etc.
